What is the HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000?
The B10000 runs on HPE’s Alletra Storage MP hardware and is built on a disaggregated architecture: StorageReview describes the separation of compute, storage and networking resources so each can scale independently. Controllers no longer have to be scaled in high availability pairs, and in switched configurations every controller can see all of the storage enclosures. Who is the B10000 for?
It suits organisations that want enterprise block storage that grows without forklift upgrades, value guarantees backed by the vendor, and are comfortable with cloud based management and subscription options through GreenLake. It is a natural option for existing HPE estates and for virtualisation and container platforms that need shared block storage.
When might it not be the right answer?
