Telecoms & observability

Real time visibility across more than four million broadband connections, delivered in twelve months

A leading UK telecommunications provider wanted to see what every one of its broadband customers was actually getting, not just what the network reported. C4C ran the programme end to end: the requirements, the market evaluation, the commercial negotiation, the supply of the platform and the infrastructure it runs on, the on premises architecture, the integration with CRM, OSS and big data, and the handover into business as usual. Twelve months from planning to full production, the platform gives operational and frontline teams real time usage and performance visibility across more than four million connections, around 90 percent of the fixed line estate.

VMware & licensing

A Broadcom VMware renewal negotiated to 56% below the quote

Broadcom quoted a Fortune 500 medical distributor a VMware renewal at more than four times its previous cost, with a push from Enterprise Plus to VMware Cloud Foundation. C4C audited and right sized an estate of more than 4,000 cores, proved an exit was feasible in the time available, took a letter of authority and negotiated directly with Broadcom. The renewal closed 56% below the quote, a saving of more than £1 million, on a multi year term with a right to terminate every year.

Insider risk case study: Mimecast Incydr at a UK asset manager

A departing fund manager copied files to a personal cloud account two days before resigning, and the firm could not prove what had left. C4C designed the insider risk programme, supplied and deployed Mimecast Incydr across 2,000 endpoints and the Microsoft 365, Google Drive and Box estate, and within ninety days the firm could see, score and stop sensitive data leaving. Twelve genuine incidents were caught in the first year, with no confirmed loss.

Storage consolidation case study: three vendors to one platform, 45% smaller footprint

A global manufacturer ran 3.2 petabytes across eleven arrays from three vendors in four data centres, each bought on a different refresh cycle, with a refresh due somewhere every year. C4C assessed the estate, ran a vendor neutral selection, negotiated the winning platform 27 percent below the incumbents’ refresh quotes and migrated everything onto two arrays in fourteen weeks. Footprint fell 45 percent, power and cooling by more than 30 percent, and cost per usable terabyte by 41 percent.

Technology procurement case study: 45% faster buying and £2.3m saved in year one

A UK logistics group was spending £38 million a year on technology through 140 suppliers, with a thirteen week average deal cycle and renewals that signed themselves. C4C rebuilt the way it buys: every contract mapped and benchmarked against what the market actually pays, the approval chain cut from seven steps to three, and C4C in the room for every vendor negotiation. Cycle times fell 45 percent and £2.3 million was realised in the first year.
