Enter what you want to monitor and see roughly what it consumes in a year at Dynatrace’s published list rates, line by line. It takes a minute, the defaults are only examples, and you can change every rate.
Rates checked 27 October 2026 from the Dynatrace rate card

Everything is worked out for a year of 8,760 hours, assuming the counts you enter run all year. Full Stack Monitoring is hosts times memory per host, rounded up to the next 0.25 GiB with a 4 GiB minimum, times hours, times the rate per memory GiB hour. Infrastructure Monitoring, Kubernetes pods and database instances are counts times hours times their hourly rate.
Logs are daily ingest times 365 times the ingest rate, plus the volume held at any time (daily ingest times retention days) times 365 times the retain rate, plus data scanned by queries. With retention with included queries, the held volume is charged at that single rate instead and queries are treated as included. Real user sessions, session replays and synthetic tests are monthly counts times 12 times their rate.
Dynatrace sells the Dynatrace Platform Subscription (DPS): a minimum annual commitment, typically for one to three years, drawn down at the rates on your rate card as you use any capability in any quantity. Dynatrace states that unit prices fall as the commitment rises and that it never charges penalty style overages; usage beyond the commitment is billed monthly at the same rates. Dynatrace pricing; Dynatrace, Full Stack Monitoring.
That is why the biggest levers are in the design, not just the price: which hosts really need full application monitoring rather than infrastructure only, how much memory those hosts have, how long logs stay searchable, and how much your dashboards and alerts query. Getting those right before you commit is worth more than any single rate.
It depends on what you monitor. Dynatrace is sold through the Dynatrace Platform Subscription (DPS), an annual commitment drawn down as you use the platform, and it publishes a list rate card: for example Full Stack Monitoring is charged per memory GiB hour and Infrastructure Monitoring per host hour. This calculator estimates annual consumption at those list rates from your own estate.
No. The calculator uses Dynatrace’s published list prices in US dollars. Dynatrace states that unit prices fall as the commitment rises, and your own rates are set in your rate card when you buy. Treat the result as a list price starting point for sizing a commitment, not a quote.
Per memory GiB hour, measured in 15 minute intervals. Host memory is rounded up to the next 0.25 GiB, with a minimum of 4 GiB per physical or virtual host, so a bigger host consumes more. Full Stack on a host includes Infrastructure Monitoring and Kubernetes Platform Monitoring for pods on that host, plus allowances of trace and custom metric data.
In parts: gigabytes ingested and processed, gigabytes retained per day, and gigabytes scanned by queries. Alternatively, retention can be bought with an allowance of included queries at a single rate per GiB day. The calculator lets you choose either option.
Commitment discounts, currency conversion beyond the rate you enter, automation workflows, AI units, data egress, classic extensions, growth during the year, and Dynatrace or partner services. It also assumes the counts you enter run all year. Check what Full Stack includes for traces and metrics before adding extra.
