Forrester measured what Dynatrace is worth to the organisations that run it: a 466% return over three years and payback in under six months. Here is where that value comes from, and how we build the same case on your own figures, ready for your board to sign.
Official Dynatrace partner in the UK
A Forrester Total Economic Impact study, commissioned by Dynatrace and published in August 2026, found a 466% return on investment over three years for a composite organisation built from interviews with eight Dynatrace customers. Benefits came to $24.7 million against costs of $4.4 million, both as present values, giving a net present value of $20.3 million and payback in under six months.
Close to 60% of that value comes from finding and fixing incidents faster. The rest comes from retiring overlapping tools, protecting revenue from downtime, faster development, better cost visibility and simpler regulatory reporting. And these are conservative numbers: Forrester reduced every benefit, increased every cost, and counted only half of the time saved.
The Forrester findings

Where the value comes from
Figures are Forrester’s three year present values for the composite organisation. Under each one is the figure from your own estate that we use to build your case.
The largest benefit by far, close to 60% of the total. Forrester modelled time saved across 450,000 alerts a year: hours taken out of each major incident war room, and most low priority alerts handled automatically.
For your case: Your incidents by priority, how many people join a major incident call, and how long it takes to find the cause.
Developers diagnose production problems themselves instead of waiting on an operations team. Interviewees described diagnosis falling from around 45 minutes to around 5.
For your case: How many hours your developers spend each week finding out why something broke in production.
Mostly avoided downtime losses, plus a small uplift from better digital experiences. Forrester applied a modest attribution share, so this is the most cautious line in the model.
For your case: What an hour of downtime on your most important customer facing services actually costs.
Legacy APM and log management tools retired in stages over three years, as their contracts end. This is cash that leaves the budget, which finance teams weigh most heavily.
For your case: Every monitoring, APM and logging tool you pay for, what it costs, and when each contract renews.
Better visibility of consumption: mainframe cost growth held flat, AI model token spend reduced, and log storage costs roughly halved.
For your case: Mainframe cost growth, log storage spend, and what your AI services spend on tokens.
Less time assembling incident reports for regulators. Interviewees in financial services said Dynatrace pre fills four of the seven sections of a DORA incident report.
For your case: How many reportable incidents you have each year and how many people and hours each report takes.
Before Dynatrace
Separate monitoring, logging and APM tools, with people correlating logs, metrics and traces by hand during an incident.
Major incidents pulling in twenty or more people and outside suppliers, with hours spent working out whose problem it is.
Problems spotted after customers feel them, and developers waiting on a central team to tell them what broke.
What we do
We spent decades on the vendor side building the business cases behind enterprise software deals, so we know exactly what a finance director needs to see to say yes. We build yours on your own figures, in sterling, with every assumption clear, and as an official Dynatrace partner we then supply, implement and optimise the platform to deliver it.

Questions
A Forrester Total Economic Impact study commissioned by Dynatrace and published in August 2026 found a 466% return on investment over three years for a composite organisation, with a net present value of $20.3 million and payback in under six months. Forrester built the composite from interviews with eight Dynatrace customers. C4C builds the same case on your own figures.
Forrester Consulting carried out the study, commissioned by Dynatrace and published in August 2026. It is based on interviews with eight decision makers at Dynatrace customers in telecommunications, transport, financial services, healthcare and professional services, combined into one composite organisation.
In the Forrester model, faster incident detection and resolution accounts for $14.4 million of the $24.7 million in total benefits, close to 60%. The rest comes from tool consolidation, revenue protection, developer productivity, operating cost containment and regulatory reporting.
Start with the six areas Forrester measured and put your own numbers against each: incidents by priority and the people each one pulls in, every monitoring and logging tool with its cost and renewal date, log storage spend, developer time and the cost of an hour of downtime. Line the tool retirements up with your contract dates and size the Dynatrace commitment to match. C4C builds this for you.
Finance teams respond best to cash savings, such as monitoring and logging contracts that are retired and lower storage costs, and Forrester found $3 million of tool consolidation savings alone in the composite. Time saved in incidents and development adds the larger productivity gain on top, and we show both clearly so the case is easy to approve.
Yes. C4C Group is an official Dynatrace partner in the UK. We build the business case on your own data, in sterling, with hard savings and time savings shown separately and tool retirements lined up against your contract dates, and then size the Dynatrace Platform Subscription to match.
