Nick Watson

Chief Technologist, C4C Group

LinkedIn Profile

Nick leads the technical direction at C4C Group. His job, put simply, is to make sure clients get real results from their technology investment rather than a stack of shiny tools that never pay back. That means understanding what a business actually needs, cutting through vendor noise, and delivering solutions that hold up in the real world.

He brings close to nine years at Dell Technologies, where he was a Global Architect aligned to a multinational telecommunications provider, leading multi million pound data centre and cloud solutions and acting as trusted technical advisor to senior business and technical stakeholders. The work was equal parts architecture and translation, turning complex business requirements into infrastructure and cloud designs that delivered measurable outcomes, and educating both customer and internal teams along the way.

Before Dell, Nick was a vArchitect at VCE, the Virtual Computing Environment company formed by Cisco, EMC and VMware, where he led enterprise sales opportunities for Vblock converged infrastructure, ran solution workshops for business and technical decision makers, and built relationships with the parent vendors. Earlier still, as a Solution Architect at Thales, he designed enterprise virtualisation and data centre platforms, including a 10,000 seat virtual desktop deployment and HMG accredited infrastructure built to CESG security standards.

His career began on the security side, including a spell as a Security Analyst at Goldman Sachs working on firewalls, VPNs and intrusion detection. That early grounding in security still shapes how he approaches infrastructure today, with resilience and risk treated as design principles rather than afterthoughts. At C4C Group, we believe that technology should do more than support your business it should propel it forward.

Where Nick focuses

With a background spanning both deep solution architecture and the commercial realities of large technology deals, Nick concentrates on bridging strategy and execution, helping organisations move faster, spend smarter, and stay ahead of change. It is the independent, vendor neutral perspective that clients value most, the ability to say what a business genuinely needs rather than what a vendor would prefer to sell.

Nick is based in Sussex, plays guitar in a local covers band, and can usually be found on a golf course or a ski slope when he is not in a data centre conversation. He is a long suffering Brighton and Hove Albion supporter, which he maintains is excellent preparation for the ups and downs of enterprise technology projects.
